Description:
The Jefferson County
Public School District has one opening for a School
Psychologist for the 2006-2007 school year. Responsibilities
include: administering psychological tests and
interpreting assessment results for the purpose
of diagnosis and placement, participating in interdisciplinary
team and IEP meetings, assisting in planning programs
that meet the special needs of the students, working
with children and youth who have a variety of disabilities,
assisting with developing IEP’s for special
education students, attending departmental meetings
and continuing professional development programs,
providing consultation to teachers, parents, and
school staff, providing individual and group counseling
and other mental health services as appropriate,
helping to develop Functional Behavioral Assessments
and Behavior Intervention Plans, and assisting
students, families, and schools deal with crises.
Bilingual applicants are welcome.
Requirements:
Possession of or
are eligible for a West Virginia School Psychologist’s
Certificate. Excellent human relations skills,
oral and written communication skills, and organizational
skills.
